11. Using marijuana during pregnancy is linked to decreased childhood impulsivity, attention deficits, and difficulty solving problems.
Marijuana use during pregnancy is associated with behavioral and brain problems among babies. In research reported by the American College of Pediatricians, children exposed to marijuana have an increased rate of impulsivity, attention deficits, and difficulty solving problems. These may be because THC mimics the human brain’s cannabinoid-like chemicals and therefore may alter the developing endocannabinoid system in the fetal brain. In addition, breastfeeding may be a source of THC transmission to developing infants. Link (Marijuana Use Detrimental to Youth)
